  • Habitat : It is found in deciduous forests and in evergreen along the large streams where it may be seen growing at its best, and where it attains its greatest girth and height.
  • Comments / notes : This noble tree is perhaps the largest of all the trees of these magnificent forests.
  • Key identification features : A very large and magnificent tree, with a straight cylindrical bole and large crown with stout, fantastically curving branches. Flowers white or yellowish-white, with a light crimson streak down the centre. Fruit about 1 in. long, with broad lateral ribs, the terminal wings 6 in. long and 1 in. broad.
