  • Key identification features : Large, prickly, usually unbranched shrubs, softly villous, or fulvus tomentose; bark brownish; prickles short, strong, weaker on pinnae; Leaves large, 2-3 pinnate, with a pair of leaflets at each node of rachis; ultimate pinnules 5-9-foliate; leaflets elliptic-ovate, or ovate lanceolate, base rounded subcordate, acuminate at apex, obscurely serrulate along margins, scabrid above, tomentose beneath; Panicles compound; umbels 15-20-flowered; bracts ovate-Ianceolate, tomentose; Flowers greenish-yellow; pedicels up to 1 cm long; calyx glabrescent, with distinct teeth; petals ovate; Fruits globose, deeply 5-ribbed.
