- Key identification features : A slender, diffusely branched suberect creeping herb, rooting at nodes. Leaves sessile, linear lanceolate and pointed at apex with short inflated sheath below, succulents. Flowers (1.2 cm. across) are blue or pink. Staminal filaments bearded. Fruit is an oblong capsule.
