- Habitat : Usually found in evergreen forests in dump place along streams.
- Comments / notes : Uncommon but not rare. The young leaves, which are yellowish- pink and conspiouous, come out in the month of February.
- Key identification features : A small tree Usually branching low, bark dis-coloured, cut mealy, dirty cream-coloured; stipules large, leaving annular scars. Leaves 7–16 in. long, broad, oblong-lanceolate, acuminate, narrowed into the petiole, entire, dark green, glabrous and glossy; lateral nerves 10-15 pair, Flower buds sub-globose, purplish; flowers solitary and terminal, handsome and fragrant; sepals concave, pinkish-purple ; petals 6, white. Fruit like a woody cone, up to 2 in. long.
