  • Key identification features : A tall tree with a light-coloured, cut reddish brown. Leaves oblong to elliptic, blunt, base rounded and 3-nerved, glabrous, with about 10 pairs of lateral nerves; petiole thickened at the top. Flowers rather small, yellowish-brown, in panicles from just below the leaves; calyx globular, the segments joined by their tips. Follicles coriaceous, scarlet when ripe.
