  • Comments / notes : The species is related to Primula macrophylla from which it differs in the membranous leaves, and the shorter included capsules. Variable as regards the size of the leaf, scape and calyx. The colour of the farina may be yellow or white.
  • Key identification features : Scapigerous herbs, up to 20 cm tall; Leaves elliptic, spathulate, ovate or obovate; Scapes stout, up to 20 cm long; Flowers purple or dark violet; Capsule oblong
