  • Key identification features : A shrub. Leaves 6-9 in. long. 11-8 in. broad, oblong-elliptic to oblong-lanceolate, shortly acuminate, base acute, coriaceous, glabrous, dark green and glossy above; lateral nerves rather fine and interarching rather far from the edge; petioles 1 in. long. Flowers solitary or a few together, axillary or from the leaf scars; sepals and petals thick, incurved. Ripe carpels 6-8 together, cylindric, 1 in. long.
