  • Key identification features : A small tree (15–25 x 1-2) with blackish branchlets. Leaves 6 in. long, 1-4 in. broad, ovate to elliptic or oblong-lanceolate, acuminate, base rounded, glabrous, and glossy above, with hairs on the midrib and nerves beneath; lateral nerves 7-9 pairs. Flowers about in. long, greenish-white, outer petals ovate-cordate, inner trapezoid with a long claw, vaulted and cohering; stamens 6. Ripe carpels 1-1 in. long, oblong and pointed, nearly serial.
