  • Comments / notes : The whole plant is anodyne, anthelmintic, antiphlogistic, carminative, depurative and febrifuge. It stimulates blood circulation. A decoction is used in the treatment of traumatic injuries, lumbago, menstrual irregularities, purulent infections, snake and insect bites.
  • Key identification features : Annual or perennial, erect herbs, up to 1 m tall, puberulous; Leaves deltoid, hastate or cordate, upper amplexicauled; stipules more than 2 cm long; Flowers in terminal cymose clusters or spikate racemes, white; Nuts trigonous, darkish brown, surfaces flat or concave.
