  • Key identification features : Caulescent herbs; stems 20-30 cm long, sparsely puberulous, succulent; Leaves asymmetric, alternate, ovate to elliptic, base unequally subcordate, acuminate to caudate at apex, serrate to sinuate dentate along margins, veins puberulous above, prominent, densely pubescent, beneath; petioles pubescent; stipules 2, adnate, lanceolate; Inflorescence racemose, contracted; male flowers blooming at the top of inflorescence and female flowers below; stamens 12-18, monadelphous; anthers oblong to elliptic, connective obscure; ovary elliptic-oblong, 3-winged with one larger wing and 2 smaller wings, 3-loculed; styles 3, connate at base, upper divided into three; stigma lunate; Larger wing of capsules; seeds ellipsoid, brown.
