  • Key identification features : Large twinning shrubs; young parts tomentose; Leaves opposite, cordate-ovate to avate-lanceolate; base cordate, apex acuminate to acute, margins entire, membranous, scabrous above, densely white, villous-tomentose beneath; lateral nerves 7-8 nerves; petioles tomentose; Panicles trichotomously branched, axillary or terminal, villous or pubescent; Flowers dull purple; calyx villous, teeth short; corolla tunnel-shaped, crimson, pilose inside; lobes trilobulate; Capsules ovoid-oblong, brown, crowned my calyx teeth; seeds 2, black, compressed, rounded to slightly oblong, white hairy on both the surfaces.
