  • Key identification features : A tree 20-50 feet high with a pale grey bark. Flowers reddish brown in rufous-tomentose lax panicles; calyx widely campanulate, the lobes lanceolate and cohering by their tips. Follicles coriaceous, yellow when unripe, turning scarlet in ripening, pubsent outside, glabrous within.
