  • Comments / notes : Silentvalleya chandwadensis grows on steep slopes on rocky substratum and in the crevices of rocks. However it is common in drier areas with low rainfall of c. 570 mm per annum
  • Key identification features : Culm tufted, 40 – 100 cm tall, stout; nodes glabrous; smooth leaf sheath; Leaf blade , linear, acuminate, glabrous, upper surface scaberulous, margin entire; ciliatous ligule; upper glume is prominently 3-nerved; deeply clefted lemma; lemma awn is present which is more than twice the length of lemma.
