  • Key identification features : Rhizome long or short, creeping, upto 1.5 cm thick, branched, bearing wiry roots densely on abaxial side. Syipes upto 2 cm apart, grey-brown with persistent bases of hairs at the base, yellowish-brown or stramineous, glabrous and glossy above. Lamina ovate-lanceolate, bipinnate with terminal pinna slightly wider and shorter than the lateral ones; pinnae upto eight pairs, alternate or subopposite with upto 3 cm long stalk, spreading or slightly ascending; pinnules upto right pairs, lanceolate, basal few pairs with upto 1 cm long stalk, others gradually becoming sessile and adnate to the secondary rachis, margin lobed deeply at the base, shallowly at the middle portion, primary and secondary rachises rounded below, grooved above; costa raised slightly above; pinnae pale green, glabrous above and below; texture subcoriaceous. Sori upto 1.5 mm in diameter, indusia glabrous.
