Panicles terminal, corymbose; peduncle terete; buds obovoid. Flowers white, hypanthium companulate; operculum hemispherical, apiculate. Fruit more or less sessile, ovoid, valves enclosed. Easily distinguished by the hirsute indumentum and the ovate leaves
