  • Key identification features : A tall tree (35 m.) with buttressed trunk and layered branches. Leaves turn scarlet when old, simple, alternate, oblong-elliptic, presence of shallow toothed margins. Flowers in racemes, greenish-white, bell shaped with five-fringed petals along pedicels. Fruit is a bright-blue ovoid drupe and edible.
