• Habitat : Semi-evergreen, evergreen, moist deciduous-and shola forests
• Comments / notes : Often on hills above 1200m, along forest borders of sholas and on thickets. E. latifolia L. is treated separately by some, but we follow Saldanha's Flora of Karnataka vol. 2 by keeping them conspecific. This is a high altitude replacement of E.indica Servettaz. Fruits are edible.
