- Key identification features : A large tree. Leaves oblong-lanceolate, obtusely acuminate at apex, glabrous. Male fl: in few-flowered peduncled paniculate cymes borne in the axils of fallen leaves. Female fl: axillary, solitary or in 2-5-flowered cymes. Fruit ovoid, up to 4 cm long, hirsute when young, becoming glabrate with age, seated on the enlarged, 5-lobed, auricled, plicate calyx. Seeds ovoid; endosperm not ruminate
