  • Comments / notes : Fimbristylis velliangiriensis is closely allied to F. insignis Thw. but differs by the presence of involute leaves with acute at apex, 3-5 (8) involucral bracts equal to or longer than spikelets, minutely scaberulous glumes which are aristate at apex and ciliate anthers (2-8), broadly winged filaments with a reddish gland at the base and winged style and obovoid nutlet.
