  • Comments / notes : Eleocharis khandwaensis grows in ponds at an altitude of about 318 m a.s.l. in association with Coix lacryma L., Cyperus spp. Dichanthium annulatum (Forssk.) Eleocharis spp., Fimbristylis bisumbellata (Forssk.),Iseilema laxum Hack., Ipomoea fistulosa.
  • Key identification features : Stolons are slender, 10 – 20 cm in length, covered with reddish to brown scales, Culms are erect, 2 – 5 mm wide, terete and acute at apex, shiny and striate when dry,transversely septate, hollow between septa, deeply green, yellowish brown when dry, bristle spinules of perianth is weak, achenes are brown to olive in colour along with annulate apex and a short neck , achene bases are truncate, dark brown to black coloured achenes and nut surface epidermal cells are isodiametrically hexagonal to pentagonal.
