  • Key identification features : A slender herb, prostrate below, rooting at the nodes with branches ascending. Leaves opposite, rhomboid-ovate to elliptic, acute at apex, cuneate at base. Spikes terminal on the stem and branches up to 30 cm. Flowers pale-violet. Perianth-segments 5, free, up to 3 mm long. Urticle ovoid, indehiscent.
