  • Key identification features : Small trees, of 10-15 m tall. Leaves sub-coriaceous, leaflets oblong-obtuse, 9-11 nerved. Flowers are large, rose to pink-purple, in terminal or axillary racemes or panicles and are fragrant. Peduncles stout, to 5 cm, bracts ovate. Calyx spathaceous, tube turbinate. Petals 5, equal and similar, obovate, narrow at base and obtuse. Pods are light green when young and turning brown upon maturity.
