  • Key identification features : A moderate size deciduous tree with small yellowish conical prickles covering the bark. Leaves are compound having three leaflets and crowded at branch ends. Leaflets are broader than long, rhomboid with entire margin. Flowers are bright red (about 3.5 cm.) in fascicles. Flowering follows leaf-fall. Pod is long, tapering at both ends, seeds 2-4. Bark corky, orange tinged, with deep vertical cracks.
