  • Key identification features : A large-sized deciduous tree. Leaves are compound with 2 leaflets which are ovate, trapezoid, oblique at base and about, 3-5 nerved. Flowers appear in loose panicles, are small, with delicate filiform pedicel. Stamens are alternate, long and short. Pod is strap-shaped, traversed by prominent veins and is single seeded. Wood is hard and used in making cart wheels, ploughs, bridges etc.
