Key identification features : An erect herb. Leaves are simple, linear, hairy and opposite in whorls. Flowers are small in compact bunches of white with pink tinge. Fruit is a capsule. Seeds are compressed.

Comments : Common in Eastern Ghats on sandy soils and rocky vegetation. Plant is administered both internally and externally as remedy for venomous bites of reptiles (Franklin & Murthy, 2013)
