  • Comments : Often cultivated in well irrigated lower hills and plains with full sun. Widely naturalized in lower hills towards the coast. Stem is used for building purposes. The fibrous mesocarp of the fruit yields the coir fibres used for ropes, nets etc. The sap of the peduncle yields toddy. The kernel of the fruit is edible and yields edible oil. Coconut oil cake is an excellent food for livestock.
