  • Key identification features : A small hirsute herb with stem rather spongy and rooting at nodes below. Leaves are penninerved, elliptic-obovate, punctate, serrulate and submerged leaves are not dissected. Flowers are axillary and pedicelled. Calyx is striate subtended by 2 bracteoles. Corolla is tinged with purple.

  • Comments : Common in marsh from 1000 m onwards.
