Key identification features : Erect or diffuse undershrub, pilose-hairy. Leaves are broadly elliptic to obovate or ovate. Inflorescence is axillary, few-flowerd cluster. Corolla is pink. Capsule hispid, obovoid. Seeds are broadly ellipsoid and black.

Comments : Ubiquitous weed in the plains to 1200 m, an aggressive colonizer, in fallow fields and waste places.
