  • Key identification features : Moderate-sized evergreen tree. Bark and blaze aromatic. Leaf is entire, elliptic-ovate or oblong-lanceolate, acuminate at apex, rounded-cuneate at base, nerves raised beneath, sub-coriaceous and glabrous. Flowers are many, white on simple racemes, axillary, with a hairy peduncle. Ovary is glabrous. Fruit is a 2-seeded drupe.

  • Comments : Occasional along moist shady valleys up to 1000 m. Abundant in sholas.
