  • Key identification features : Thorny shrubs with long, straight spines and the branchlets grey, tomentose. Leaves are elliptic oblong, gray-tomentose, apex obtuse or acute, base slightly cuneate. Flowers are white, in terminal, shortly peduncled cymes; calyx-lobes ovate, villous. Berry globose, black-purple when ripe.
