  • Key identification features : Evergreen thorny shrub. Thorns to 3 cm long, Leaves elliptic-oblong, sometimes orbicular, apex obtuse or emarginate, glabrous on both sides. Flowers are white, in axillary or terminal corymbose cymes; calyx lobes 5, unequal, corolla tube up to 1.2 cm long, glabrous without, villous within. Fruit ellipsoid, ovoid, 6.2 mm diam., seed 1 per cell.
