  • Key identification features : Achlorophyllous, root parasites with stolons bearing haustoria. Plant is reddish or yellowish, stem short, buried in the soil. Flowers are borne as 2-6 flowered corrymbs, calyx is yellowish, corolla long, tube is yellow with bluish limb, minutely denticulate. Anthers and stigma white.

  • Comments : Fairly abundant on the hills up to 720 m amidst grasses and mostly as a parasite on Themeda spp.
