  • Key identification features : Achlorophyllous, root parasites with stolons bearing haustoria. Stem is simple, branching and dirty-brown in colour. Flower are usually solitary, scapes up to 25 cm high. Calyx pinkish and corolla purple with a touch of white near the throat.

  • Comments : A gregarious root parasite in shade on humus rich soils on the floor of thickets.
