  • Key identification features : An aquatic herb with stems rooting at nodes, hollow and floating on water. Leaves are alternate, obovate, rounded at apex, base narrowed into petiole. Flowers are solitary, axillary, up to 2.2 cm across. Fruit is a cylindrical capsule with a persistent calyx.
