  • Key identification features : Moderate size evergreen trees. Stem is crooked often branched near the base; canopy dense. Leaves are shortly petioled, elliptic, opposite, acuminate at apex, slightly aromatic when crushed. Flowers are showy in groups of 3-7. Fruit is a berry, fleshy when ripe 1-4 seeded. Pear shaped.
