  • Key identification features : A small tree with young parts hispid and internodes hallow. bole is buttressed. Leaves are simple, obovate to elliptic-oblong, leaf-blade is acuminate, scabrid, up to 27 cm long, 11 cm broad, basal nerves 2-4, lateral nerves 4-7 pairs, petiole up to 4.5 cm long. Figs are globose, clustered on tubercles of the stem or on separate leafless rooting runners arising from the trunk. Bark peels off in irregular flakes.
