  • Key identification features : A large tree with few or no aerial roots. Bark showing a characteristic pattern of lenticels. Leaves are ovate-elliptic, thinly coriaceous, bluntly acuminate at apex. Base is rounded and sub-acute, glabrous. Figs are in axillary pairs, sessile, globose or ovoid, smooth, 7-10 cm in diameter, red when ripe.

  • Comments : Occasional in plains to hills up to 1000 m. A number of variants of this species are often found in gardens, avenues etc.
