Key identification features : A climbing shrub with membranous, cordate and glabrous leaves. Flowers are unisexual in racemes. Petals 6 and green. Stamens 6 and free. Staminodes are present in female flowers. Fruit is a globose drupe, green turning orange to red.

Comments : In deciduous forests and scrub jungles up to 1000 m. Plant is highly medicinal.
