- Key identification features : An undershrub with stiff, terete branches, scabrid and covered with stellate bristles . Leaves are simple, cordate and with spiny stipules. Flowers are small, white or pink. Pedicels are long, jointed above the middle, scabrid with stellate hairs. Fruit is a globose capsule, which dehisces into 5-valves, smooth outside and hairy within.
