- Key identification features : An aromatic undershrub. Leaves are simple, opposite, large, rough and hairy, gradually diminishing in size towards the inflorescence. Flowers are small (0.5-1 cm across), pale blue, in axillary, compact clusters at the branch apices. Fruit is a group of four nutlets, sheathed by persistent sepals.
