Habitat : Deciduous forest
Key identification features : Bark is dark-brown, rough, fibrous, exfoliating in long strips. Blaze is pink to red; leaves are edible with acidic taste. Inflorescence in axillary racemes, sessile with flowers being creamish-white, petals are spathulate, nearly equal. Stamens 10 and pods are beaked.

Comments : Occasional in valley forests of Eastern Ghats.
