  • Key identification features : A large unarmed, fast growing, deciduous tree. Bark is whitish or grey, marked with horizontal lines, often stained with brown. Blaze red. Leaves are bi-pinnate with glands at the base of the petiole. Leaflets about 2-6 pairs with an oval gland below the uppermost pair. Inflorescence of 12-20-flowered head; stamens greenish-yellow fused in to a tube. Pod is thin 6-8 inches long and 1 inch broad.

  • Comments : Occasional in deciduous forests along streams of Eastern Ghats. Often planted for ornament or in avenues.
