  • Key identification features : A large deciduous tree with compound leaves. Branchlets puberulous or glabrous. Rachis about 10 cm long with gland near base of petiole. Pinnae usually in two pairs, with leaflets about 3-4 pairs. Flowers are greenish-white in head inflorescence, mildly fragrant. Fruit is a pod up to 35 cm, which is greenish when young, turning yellowish-brown upon maturity, flat and carries up to 6-10 seeds. Bark is brownish-grey, rough, with numerous sharp irregular cracks.
