  • Key identification features : Small trees, with an umbrella shape crown, armed with prominent spines and are white, large, in pairs, often hollow and are associated with ants. Bark reddish-brown. Branchlets are glabrous. Leaves up to 3 cm long, petiloe gland near the middle. Pinnae with 2-4 pairs with leaflets 8-12 pairs, ciliate along margin to about 4 mm long. Flowers are in spikes, white or yellow. Pod is flat, slightly bent, dehiscent and subacute at apex.
