  • Key identification features : Medium-sized deciduous tree with a spreading crown. Bole is buttressed. Leaves are pinnately compound. Bark is light brown and relatively smooth forming buttress at the base. Flowers are deep-red to orange-red and showy. Fruit is a long pod, flat, green when young turning black upon maturity.
