  • Key identification features : A moderate-sized deciduous tree; girth up to 2 m; bark when cut is red, to 1.5 cm thick. Flowers are greenish to purplish. Fruits are crowded, tinged red initially, finally white and pulpy.

  • Comments : Occasional in hills to 1400 m, on slopes, inside forests, etc. A good timber tree.
