  • Key identification features : Moderate-sized trees, with young parts being brown-tomentose. Leaves are alternate, spiralled, orbicular or deltoid, 3-5 palmately ribbed, and brown tomentose beneath. Flowers are in dense yellow clusters. Ovary 4-locular, style is 3-4 fid. Capsule 3-4 valved, white, ferruginous, papillose. Seeds black, smooth, often minutely rugose.

  • Comments : Occasional on hill slopes above 1200 m, in sholas.
