  • Key identification features : Moderate-size trees, with young parts tomentose. Petiole up to 18 cm long. Leaves with large stipules and round resinous yellowish glands beneath. Inflorescence pubescent, bracts linear with apical glands. Calyx valvate, splitting into 2-3 lobes in male and 2-4 lobes in female. Ovary 1-2 locular.

  • Comments : Often on hills above 1000 m in semi-evergreen patches and also in sholas.
