  • Key identification features : A small deciduous tree that grows up to 9-10 m tall. Leaves are simple, peltate and lobed, 8-14 cm long and 4-8 cm broad, glaucous beneath. Flowers appear in clusters at branch ends, inconspicuous (about 1.5 cm across), both male and female flowers appearing on the same tree. Fruit is indistinctly 3-lobed and splits into three one-seeded portions when mature. Bark is grey, with clusters of pink coloured lenticels running horizontal.
