• Key identification features : A small tree with somewhat panduriform leaves. Leaves are abruptly acuminate at apex. Female flowers are long peduncled and the capsule covered with conical tubercles ending in a hair.

• Comments : Occasional along rocky ravines and nallahs of evergreen forests in northern Eastern Ghats. An inflorescence like growth is sometimes produced by galls.
